Glowing houses have brand-new central heating systems
Central heating is the best way of getting ready for when wintertime approaches with its longer nights and freezing temperatures. You can guarantee yourself a comfortable and enjoyable house with a central heating system that is safe and reliable.
The two basic types of central heating systems are called pumped and vented, both of which are made up of a boiler, central heating radiators and usually copper pipework.
Popularly used are pumped systems which comprise of a main feed and expansion water tank that heats up and transmits the heat through pipework to secondary heaters (central heating radiators). The expansion tank might fill up at times because of water expansion.
The second type of heater is composed of a sealed system without a central component that is part of the central heating radiator. This system is essentially self-providing and therefore does not require any water tanks. A sealed gas central heating system gets rid of the risk of water leakage, airlock formation and pipe freeze (a common problem in the harsh winters of countries like Russia).
You may ask why you need gas central heating and what are its benefits?.
One of the greatest advantages of central heating is its capability to increase the temperature inside a house or office very quickly without creating any noticeable effects in the air immediately surrounding you. The old type heaters that were used were gas fires and electric heaters, as well as storage heaters. However, these were not ideal as they emitted an odour and affected the condition of the air, drying it out.
Such problems never occur with gas central heating but they require regular maintenance to ensure their peak operation. Most people switch off their central heating systems during summertimes and switch them on only during winters, this should be totally avoided as the system could suddenly develop a problem as winter appears. It is more prudent to routinely switch on the system in autumn as wintertime approaches, so that any hitches can be repaired by summoning a central heating expert well in time.
It is also important to remember that most home gas central heating systems allow in dust or air, thus requiring regular drainage. The easiest way to do this is to gently open the valve and allow any water to fall into a bucket placed underneath.
