Upgrade your central heating with a new boiler
Icy winds of winter curl through the trees and you huddle at your window, thinking of heating for your home – this season perhaps you should get yourself central heating. If you have an efficient and safe gas central heating system installed you will enjoy the benefits of a comfortable and snug household.
Most heating systems compromise of a boiler; heating radiator and pipework, there are basically two different sorts of gas central heating systems, one being a pumped system and the other being a vented system.
Pumped systems are probably the more common ones and their main part is a feed expansion tank which acts as the centre core by heating up itself first to subsequently warm up the heaters via the pipe work. The expansion tank will always allow for any water expansion that may occur as it gets hot.
There is also what is known as a sealed system in which no centre core is used to heat the heating radiators. Since it is entirely sealed, the feed-expansion tanks are not required. The main assets of this system is that issues such as leaking and airlocks are minimised and, particularly for those who live in colder climates, pipes will not freeze.
Do I really need a gas central heating system to heat my house?.
The simple answer is that it will allow you to heat your entire home or office quickly without compromising the air quality. Conventional heaters like gas fires, electric heaters and storage heaters are also quite effective. But the main disadvantages with these, were that they made the air somewhat dry and hard, as well as letting off a slight smell.
Gas central heating ended such problems, however your gas central heating system should be checked and maintained regularly in order to ensure it is running at its optimum. Many home owners turn them on immediately at the arrival of cold weather after leaving them off during the summer season, which is not the proper thing to do. Try to switch on your heating system during autumn so that if there is any defect, it can be fixed well before wintertimes approach and fixed at a time when the plumbers are less busy.
Airborne dust and other contaminants can also seep into the central heating system, necessitating periodic drainage and cleansing. The best way to do this is to place a bucket underneath the drain valve and slowly open it to release the water, but just make sure that no more air or dirt is making its way in.
